Web sites generally contain two types of text-based content – static and dynamic. Static content is simply information that seldom changes and appears as text on your web page. Dynamic content changes frequently such as a product catalogue, events calendar and a performance schedule.
Dynamic content can be updated by editing the page on which it appears. This can require considerable time, has the potential for errors and usually requires basic web-page editing skills. The better alternative method is to store this data in a database.
