Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION - DIRECTOR OF SALES

REPORTS TO: President

REQUIRED TRAINING/
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must have proven sales and supervisory experience, preferably in the construction / building industry
Must have leadership qualities
College degree preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Superior time management skills
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Must have a valid drivers license and access to an automobile for outside sales calls
Excellent hearing
Command of the English language, written and oral Able to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time/frequently in order to interact with clients and staff
Must be able to work flexible and extended hours

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

1. Supervises and directs the entire Sales Department.
2. Directs the recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, promotion and termination of all employees in the Sales Department.
3. Directs the maintenance of all file systems for sales revenue and tracking.
4. Researches local competition.
5. Maintains updated marketing and prospect lists.
6. Trains and reinforces uniform qualifying techniques and sales processes or templates.
7. Provides coaching and mentoring to all salespeople on a weekly basis.
8. Conducts a weekly sales team meeting to insure accountability and regular communications.
9. Maintains and enforces a written compensation plan for all sales team members.
10. Provides annual performance reviews to all salespeople and the HR department.
11. Provides product quality feedback to the General Manager.
12. Proactively supports a positive image for the firm and participates in community affairs.
13. Solicits and services major accounts.
14. Provides data to the Finance Manager and CEO for establishing the annual budget and sales forecast.
15. Performs all other related duties/projects/reports as assigned by the General Manager/VP of Sales.
16. Supports the monthly Executive Team meetings with monthly forecasts and revisions.
17. Responsible for EOM Pace reports and sales portion of EOM Report.
18. Executes the firm’s policies and procedures in accordance with the above responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos, ability to write simple correspondence, ability to effectively present one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other staff members of the organization and hospitality community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages and ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING ABILITY: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished written, oral, or diagram form, ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and ability to address customer personalities in various business situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a staff member to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the staff member is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, to handle and feel objects, tools controls and type; talk with and hear guests. The staff member is occasionally required to stand and walk. The staff member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The specific vision abilities required are close vision.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The staff member will work in a high traffic/high volume business environment.
