We are accepting applications for a full-time Deli Clerk position at our Fillmore Store location in Cow Hollow.
The Deli Clerk provides courteous and efficient customer service, including packing and pricing choices, preparing samples and making sandwiches and salads to order. Deli Clerks assist in maintaining the presentation of the deli department. Deli Clerks reflect the personality and character of the store, and personnel must be focused on projecting our genuine willingness to deliver what we promise in our mission statement. Deli clerks have or gain familiarity with our prepared food department, including organic and local issues, seasonality and cooking/preparation methods.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists customers in a courteous manner, answers questions regarding products, offers samples
• Prepares or packages customer selections with proper pricing
• Maintains sampling trays, displays and merchandising, stocking and facing as needed.
• Exercises safe food handling skills and good equipment safety procedures (particularly knives).
• Maintains a clean and well organized department, including sweeping, mopping, dusting restocking supplies and cleaning.
Other Functions:
• Performs other duties assigned by Store Manager or Supervisor.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
• Ability to safely handle up to #50 cases, containers, and bags
• Standing for up to eight hours
• Job involves repetitive tasks
• Exposure to food ingredients and cleaning agents
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience preferred
• Commitment to customer service
• Must be able to follow directions
• Working familiarity and commitment to continued education in Deli department merchandise as well as natural foods and product lines
