Job Description:
Store Clerk needed for all evening shifts Saturday through Wednesday
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists customers in a courteous manner
• Efficiently operates POS System or Cash Register Transactions using proper cash handling methods; efficiency with “to the penny” accuracy.
• Sorts, scans and bags purchased merchandise
• Understands the products that we carry and has working knowledge of P.L.U. information
• Stocks shelves with merchandise from back room, daily deliveries, and refrigerated storage as needed
• Assist to receive, open, unpack and issue merchandise to the sales floor
• Sweeps, dusts and cleans throughout the store, including spills
• Performs regular maintenance for bathrooms and break room
• Maintains a clean sidewalk & store frontage, inside and outside
• Stays informed of changes in store policies and methods
Other Functions:
• Performs other duties assigned by Store Manager or Supervisor
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
• Ability to handle up to 50# cases, containers and bags
• Standing for up to eight hours
• Job requires working inside/outside/in refrigeration
• Job involves repetitive tasks
• Exposure to food ingredients and cleaning agents
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience preferred but not required
• Responsible for cash handling; able to perform mathematical calculations using electronic POS system/cash register/calculator and accurately record and reconcile transactions
• Able to handle cash in an honest and with the utmost integrity
• Preferred experience stocking shelves and working in a warehouse
• Must be able to follow directions
• Working familiarity with natural foods and product lines, commitment to continuing growth and education
