Great opportunity to step in to a successful events program with excellent up-side potential! The Chapel music venue and restaurant has an established clientele of corporations, tech companies, non-profits and local businesses. We have flexible space to accommodate events from 800+ with music entertainment down to intimate special occasion dinners for 20, with multiple options in between. We regularly host weddings, full venue holiday parties, happy hour meet-ups, daytime conferences, birthday dinners, and other popular events.

The Director of Sales is responsible for securing and executing private events for the Chapel music venue and restaurant. This is a hands-on position requiring strong sales skills as well as the ability to oversee and build a dynamic event sales and operations team to maximize the Chapel’s private events program. The position will create marketing initiatives that successfully build the brand in its entirety, and will execute these initiatives by identifying and pursuing leads, developing marketing strategies, creating and sustaining relationships with vendors and industry peers, and managing all financial aspects of the private events program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop collateral materials and advertising, based on competitive market surveys and the features and benefits of the venue
• Create and execute annual marketing plan for private events including strategies for marketing, advertising, social media and public relations for SMERF, MICE & FIT markets
• Establish a consistently high level of event production by building and overseeing a strong events management team
• Set booking guidelines
• Handle group inquiries with prompt response time & follow up of proposals, phone calls and inquiries
• Maintain involvement and visibility in local hospitality industry when needed, including Hotel Concierge program
• Update Venue Website Management and social media channels
• Attend meetings with management to communicate event expectations
• Work and maintain relationships with venue partners, including associations and memberships
• Establish and execute event sales process from initial client contact to needs assessment to solution to follow up
• Manage all aspects of private event reservations, including but not limited to, executing contracts and collecting payments, obtaining necessary outside resources and supplies, coordinating with restaurant staff on menu options and pricing, and coordinating with venue staff on room availability and special needs
• Manage all employment aspects of event assistance staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluation and scheduling
• Handle all financial aspects of private event reservations, including deposits, corkage fees, food and beverage costs, rental fees, etc.
• Continually evaluate trends and competitor pricing and recommend changes as needed to private events policies, procedures, and sales tactics

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of successful event sales experience
• Excellent communication and management skills
• Experienced user of Triple-Seat and Excel
• Prior food and beverage experience required; entertainment industry experience a strong plus
