Sous Chef - Experienced

Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana in downtown Palo Alto, CA is seeking an experienced restaurant Sous Chef with a high degree of cooking, kitchen management, staff supervision and guest service skills.

Our ideal candidate will supervise, direct, coordinate and participate in all activities of the kitchen staff. 

Supervisor management experience in a full service restaurant is required.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating and overseeing the kitchen line for food and service quality
  • Adhering to recipe guidelines
  • Organizing staff training, scheduling and forecasting
  • Completing food purchasing, receiving, inventory and invoicing
  • Following all company guidelines and standards
  • Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines 
  • Maintaining a positive teamwork attitude
  • Communicating clearly, professionally and respectfully
  • Being able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Having a flexible work schedule including weekend availability
