Dinah’s Garden Hotel is a full service, boutique hotel that has been family owned and operated since 1957. Dinah’s is often described by our guests as unique, an oasis, historic, and describe our service as genuine, friendly, and family oriented.

  • The Host/ess is responsible for greeting, receiving and seating guests in the Poolside Restaurant in a courteous and cordial manner. The host/ess attends to guests in the Poolside Restaurant efficiently and promptly under the direct supervision and guidance of the Assistant and Restaurant Manager.
Greet and/or acknowledge guests arriving within 30 seconds. If a delay is anticipated, it is communicated to the guest with an apology.
Seat guests by escorting them to assigned table, pulling out chairs, and handling guests the menus.
Present menus, engage in polite conversation, create a personal dinning experience, answer questions, and offer information on all menu items and beverage items.
Be knowledgeable with regards to operating hours, food, and hotel environment.
Walk through the Poolside Restaurant to ensure guests are satisfied, answers questions, advises servers of any specific service needs.
Handle any guest request or complaints within reason or refer to Manager on shift if needed.
Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and guests' concerns are addressed.
Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper set up.
Assist servers as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak hours.
Bus and clear tables as needed.
Clean tables and work areas as needed.
Thank guest when they are leaving.
Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.

Specific Experience Needed:

  • A minimum of 6 months 1 year experience.
  • Great smile and demeanor when dealing with guests.
