We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant with strong AP experience!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR ASSIGNED PROPERTIES:
• Prepare daily sales audit and bank reconciliations.
• Update the cash control to bank balances, monitoring available cash balances for obligations
• Maintain all supporting schedules for the daily sales audit, including, but not limited to: paid outs, gift certificates, investor charges, trade accounts, cash over/short, deposit adjustments, prepaid items, fixed assets, rent, and banquet deposits.
• Ensure all invoices are correctly coded and paid on time through coordination with AP staff.
• Calculate quarterly property manager bonuses.
• Prepare license and permit renewals.
• Prepare all tax filings for occupancy, property and sales taxes.
• Post approved journal entries and adjustments in the back office system.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual operating, cash flow, and capital budgets and forecasts.
• Provide timely follow-up to property manager financial and accounting inquiries 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
• Good financial acumen
• Good oral and written communication abilities
• Good time management and organization abilities
• Outstanding analytical ability and attention to details.
• Knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging and/or Restaurant Industries.
• Excellent computer skills primarily with Microsoft Office Suite and Sage or M3 back office systems
• Promote positive relations with all employees with clear, pleasant and professional communication.
• Exercise good judgment.
• Excellent attention to details. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• AA/AS in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 2-3 years progressive work experience in accounting
• Solid knowledge of general accounting.
• Proficient Excel skills.
• Proactive and competent at problem solving.
• Flexible as demonstrated through the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a small team with numerous responsibilities, both independently and as a team member.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Accounts Payable experience STRONGLY preferred
• Hospitality experience

• Experience with MAS90, M3, Accpac or Sage Products
• Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Word
