About The Pet Loss Center

The Pet Loss Center is a fast-growing, pet-industry start-up, based in Dallas Texas. Currently at 7 locations, we are rapidly expanding throughout Texas, Florida, and several additional regions over the coming months.

The Pet Loss Center is supported by several private equity firms and entrepreneurial investors with a focus on long term growth. It was launched through two acquisitions of existing pet crematories in 2014, and it has since grown through additional acquisitions and greenfield builds.

The Pet Loss Center is highly selective, with an emphasis on strong work ethic, accountability and integrity. We are looking for a proven sales leader to provide process, passion, and drive to support our rapid expansion. The Vice President of Sales is a new position and will report directly to the CMO.


Major Responsibilities 

  • Manage the sales teams and resources to deliver profitable growth
  • Develop, hire and manage high performing sales force
  • Manage key customer relationships and close strategic opportunities.
  • Work with leadership to develop/adjust plans and strategies
  • Evolve the culture of success and the ongoing business and goal achievements
  • Develop and manage budgets to achieve optimum results, measure return on investment (ROI) on sales activities to verify expenditures
  • Work with management team to define and oversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve targets
  • Support and facilitate the sales training programs to produce expected results
  • Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Optimize of the sales processes and internal systems and identify improvements needed to support a rapidly growing company
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting
  • Optimize the use of Sales Force/CRM in the sales process. Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team
  • Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful support, channel and partner programs


Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years of sales management experience and 1-3 years of direct sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Successful experience building a go-to-market strategy and corporate sales plan
  • Strong preference for someone that has a genuine love for pets and their owners and that has worked in sales supporting veterinary related businesses
  • Successful experience management in a service related business to both B2B and B2C markets on a national basis
  • Successful experience managing key contracts and opportunities to both regional and national accounts
  • Successful experience monitoring and evaluating sales rep progress against stated expectations, in addition to aligning and changing behavior with performance expectations
  • Has successful managed a team of 10 + salespeople with experience hiring and onboarding
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing CRM to manage team sales tasks, pipeline, and closing data
  • Successful sales experience building and managing territories in a rapidly growing and dynamic company
  • Experience providing status reports with market and customer feedback to the corporate leadership team.


Other Key Details

  • Strong preference will be given to candidates in the Dallas, Texas area
  • Travel expected to be up to 60% nationwide
  • Compensation will include a base and a bonus. Package based on proven results,  experience, and qualifications.
