About The Pet Loss Center

The Pet Loss Center is a fast-growing, pet-industry start-up, based in Dallas Texas. Currently at 7 locations, we are rapidly expanding throughout Texas, Florida, and several additional regions over the coming months.

The Pet Loss Center is supported by several private equity firms and entrepreneurial investors with a focus on long term growth. It was launched through two acquisitions of existing pet crematories in 2014, and it has since grown through additional acquisitions and greenfield builds.

The Pet Loss Center is highly selective, with an emphasis on strong work ethic, accountability and integrity. We are looking for an all-star leader to build and lead a team and to drive constant improvement in our operations. The Location Manager will report directly to the Senior Manager, Operations and is expected to support sales, operations and leadership in implementing a successful high functioning team in a new location.  This role will require a proven leader that is hands on and looking to take charge.

Success will be measured by operating performance of the location, safety of the employee, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Ensure that operational systems and procedures are followed 100%, providing top-tier services to both veterinarians and pet parents.  We expect to honor our customers by providing unsurpassed service, quality, and compassion.
  • Manage all vehicle routing, digital tracking systems, packaging, and crematory operations within the facility
  • Hire and train staff needed to support the operations.  Mentor and guide them to success.
  • Hands on daily care of the physical establishment in cleaning and upkeep of the facility and to the safety of our employees.
  • Participate in local pet fairs in the community
  • Continued learning on the grief steps and processes
  • Assistance with other organizations on memorial services and other pet related events that would tie in with a “memorialization” concept
  • Collaborate closely with the corporate office to support existing revenue-generating activities (online store, sponsorships, etc.) and develop new ones
  • Scheduling operations and 24-hour phone coverage among the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 4 year college degree; 3-5+ years of management experience
  • Must have a love for pets and a demonstrated sensitivity to the human/pet bond.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in performing duties.
  • Prepare and submit relevant reports timely and accurate manner, to include but not limited to sales reports, accounting reports, and sales tax responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks a plus.
