ALEMBIC EXPANDING SERVICE | Seeking Lead Line & Prep Cooks, and Host

ALEMBIC, would like to thank everyone for their numerous responses. We are happy to say that we've filled the bartender and barback positions. We're still looking to fill a couple spaces on the line and looking for a host to be the face of Alembic!  

ALEMBIC, one of San Francisco’s premier craft bar and restaurant, is looking to expand our both our Back (BOH) and Front of House (FOH) teams as we continue to extend service hours and are planning to open for Weekend Brunch.

ALEMBIC is a nationally recognized, craft cocktail bar and restaurant serving San Francisco and the Upper Haight since 2006.

BACK OF HOUSE. Each position will involve working with Executive Chef Rachel Aronow and contribute in the development of new dishes in line with our globally influenced farm to table, hyper-seasonal, local and ingredient driven cuisine. Qualified candidates should have an eagerness to assist and develop our 1,000 sq foot chef’s garden, charcuterie program and house raised livestock (off-site). We are currently looking to round out our kitchen team with the following positions:

  • Line Cooks
  • AM or PM Prep Cooks

DINING ROOM. Finally, we are looking for a full time host/food runner. No experience is required. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to start off in the hospitality and restaurant industry. Starting as a host you can move to the bar, serve, or even manage. Alembic offers a great training program. 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATES are those who are looking for an intimate, creative and collaborative environment. The ideal team member is:

  • Dedicated and passionate about their craft.
  • Have a positive attitude.
  • Be hard working
  • Must be open to receiving direction and expanding their culinary, cocktail and service knowledge
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task while being challenged

Both part time and full time positions as well as day and night shifts (kitchen) are available. Primary responsibility is to work closely with the entire Alembic team to provide our guests with the best dining experience.

ALEMBIC promotes a creative and collaborative work environment. We make most of the elements that go into ever dish and cocktail in-house. We maintain a chef’s garden that is used by both the kitchen and bar. 

Above market rate compensation will be offered based on experience in addition to health insurance, commuter benefits, sick pay and referral bonuses. This is an excellent opportunity for those candidates to learn, refine their skills and advance.

ALEMBIC is located in San Francisco’s historic Haight Ashbury district and is within blocks of public transportation (N-Judah, 7-Noriega, 37-Corbett, 43-Masonic and 33-Ashbury).
