  • Harry’s Hofbrau Restaurants, owned and successfully operated by the same family for 55 years, has a need to attract a full-time Baker’s Assistant
  • Bakery Location: Redwood City, CA
  • Basic Schedule: Monday through Friday 5:30 am to 1:30 PM
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities: participate with a staff in the baking of pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
  • Wage and Benefits: Will be commensurate with your abilities, knowledge and experience.   We are not specifying a dollar amount or benefit level dependent upon the candidates’ competencies.

  • Immediate Future: Harry’s Hofbrau Wholesale Bakery is seeking to proactively expand with plans to hire additional talented individuals to our existing team.


  • Harry’s Hofbrau Bakery is a wholesale house that produces bakery products complimenting the restaurant’s profile and reputation as a provider of big value, home cooked style, comfort food served in a refined dinning environment.
  • This position does NOT involve working with retail customers.
  • A desirable working environment; the airy and light physical dimensions of the bakery are particularly appealing to bakers compared to the typical small, dark and confined bakery conditions.

Key Tasks:

  • Receiving of all food and supplies as required
  • Ensure food and supply items are stored per standards
  • Ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment
  • Packaging and labeling items, and preparing them for shipment
  • Assist other staff members to clean the kitchen after preparation, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat

 The Baker’s Assistant must:

  • Be responsible for maintaining strict health department and company food safety standards through proper food handling and cleanliness requirements.
  • Be able to work 5 shifts per week, and during our busiest season (4th quarter; October thru December) be available some weekdays/weekends/holidays.
  • Be able to handle the physical requirements of the position such as bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods of time and working at a fast pace for eight hours or more at a time.
