Seeking a highly skilled and effective Pastry Cook III to join our team!

Creates/prepares/produces/bakes breads, rolls, breakfast pastries and desserts according to standard recipes, in order to contribute the overall guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Creates, prepares/produces/bakes all breakfast pastries, breads, rolls and desserts for restaurants and banquets. Decorates pastries/cakes with creativity and skill.
  • Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration of same.
  • Ensures spoilage/waste are kept to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products. Develop new products for a la carte and catering menus on a rotating basis.
  • Lines up baked products in mobile carts according to the needs of the particular outlet/function.
  • Set daily pars on all products to ensure freshness.
  • Assists in the professional development of apprentices and bakers, other duties as assigned.
  • Assists with preparation/cooking in other stations as requested.
  • Keeps work station neat and orderly - "clean as you go".
  • Assist with special duties or special orders or products whenever possible.


  • Skilled in creating, preparing/producing and decorating pastries and cakes.
  • Knife handling, pastry & baked goods knowledge.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete requisitions read recipes and communicates with other team members.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slices, etc.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. on continuous schedule.
  • Ability to stand and to work continuously in confined spaces.
  • Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.

Position will be required to work a varied schedule that may include evenings/nights, weekends and holidays.

High School graduate and Culinary or Apprenticeship program preferred. Advance degree or specialized training highly desirable. Minimum two years pastry/baking experience in a hotel/restaurant environment required.
