COMMERCIAL ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE

 

The Commercial Account Representative is an important part of our management team and is mainly in charge of maintaining existing company accounts while working efficiently to create new ones. They strive to provide excellent customer service for current and prospective clients. In addition, they analyze possible business affiliations and develop strong connections to gain new leads. They utilize company resources to keep track of bids, strategies and goals. They are constantly trained with new methods and updated technology to be more productive.

Account representatives must know how to multitask and work under deadlines. They should possess strong knowledge of the sales process and have remarkable problem solving abilities. They are often required to follow organizational privacy and safety policies to comply with industry regulations. They may also design and use effective selling plans to create brand loyalty for services. In addition, account representatives work on keeping customers with the company by resolving customer needs. As part of their main duties, they also create quotes and contracts for services rendered and use company knowledge to recommend business options for clientele. 

Account representatives must have superior interpersonal and communication skills. You would mainly work in an office environment with a personal computer and tcellular phone as your main tools. As such, you also must be proficient in the use of office applications and team communication software. A bachelor's degree is usually the higher education requirement; however, years of previous experience in a similar position can also be helpful.

 

Account Representative Tasks

  • Follow up on interested potential clients, prepare proposals and schedule projects.
  • Follow up on leads and discover new sales opportunities.
  • Respond to questions and complaints from customers.
  • Analyze customer information to make recommendations for additional services.
