Job Description: 
We are a well established grower-shipper based in Salinas. Our reputation is built on impeccable service and quality.
As our business continues to grow, we need a proven leader to direct our internal (FOB) sales team. We have a strong team in place and now need the right leader to join us in getting to the next level.
We are in search of a produce industry professional with a proven background of sales achievement in leafy-greens, celery, broccoli and cauliflower to further develop our business.
Your role here will be be leading the day-to-day FOB Sales Team, while also managing a few accounts of your own. You will answer to and work closely with the VP of Sales and Marketing. You will set the tone and continue to foster the company’s culture, focus and work ethic within Sales.

Our Ideal candidate can quickly develop relationships with key decision makers for a variety of customers, collaborate with our team, and oversee the sales staff, all to accelerate sales growth while achieving target margins and ensuring optimum customer contact, support and happiness.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to create and attain budgeted sales and profit goals.
  • Lead the FOB sales efforts and build sales in the existing customer base while attracting new customers to our business.
  • Proactively achieve sales and profit goals by evaluating and responding to the changing needs of customers.
  • Seek out new accounts and revenue generating opportunities that support our mission and create sustainable growth for the company.
  • Oversee commodity sales on a daily basis and work with Product Managers to develop product and pricing strategies.
  • Optimize communications between sales and all other departments.
  • Develop and improve operational systems that increase efficiency and profitability across the sales ordering process.
  • Develop and leverage sales and margin performance analytics that help continually increase sales and profitability.
  • Conduct and lead regular, efficient, agenda driven sales meetings.
  • Closely monitor the market and competition and advise management on changes in the market (i.e. competitive pricing, new products, etc).
  • Provide the highest level of integrity and promote a positive company image inside and outside the organization.
  • A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in sales and commodity management that includes developing new accounts and increasing sales, managing a successful team and creating/overseeing forecasts and budgets.
  • A minimum of 10 years in the Salinas Valley veg. deal.
  • Leadership ability, with an engaging personality and the ability to motivate, direct and develop people and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate between grower-partners and customers.
  • A solid reputation in the industry and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to navigate and learn new sales /inventory software programs.
  • Excellent English writing skills.
  • Analytical and organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Spanish language speaking ability is a plus, but not a must.
