Market Hall Foods (MHF) is a family-owned family of food businesses in the East Bay including: Market Hall Foods in Oakland and Berkeley, markethallfoods.com, Market Hall Bakery, Market Hall Caterers, Hapuku Fish Shop, Market Hall Produce, Cactus Taqueria, KL Keller Foodways and The Pasta Shop Fresh Pasta.  
 
As the IT Support Specialist, you will support, maintain and monitor MHF computer systems and networks. You will be tasked with solving technical issues and will also collaborate with staff across all departments to assist them with their technical needs. You will be front line support for our team - the ambassador of technology that will maintain and upgrade the tools needed to keep our operations running smoothly.  

Position Requirements

  • Provide primary coverage for all IT related requests, serving as the first level of technical support for all users.
  • Troubleshoot/repair hardware and software issues in a mixed OS environment (MS Windows and Mac OS)
  • Install, modify and repair computer hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot and identify network and internet connectivity issues
  • Handle employee IT onboarding and off boarding procedures
  • Training others with MS office products and various basic web interfaces
  • Participate in the long-term strategies and planning for security, technical architecture, and operations
  • Lead for implementation on hardware and software projects
  • Manage and implement data backup
  • Maintain and create best practice for data handling
  • Stay knowledgeable on related industry trends and forecast as they relate to opportunities for increased efficiency
  • Ability to isolate and communicate issues and needs with 3rd party software engineers
  • Perform overall system administrator functions

 

Knowledge of the following is preferred

  • VOIP office phone systems
  • ERP systems including - Various POS systems across multiple business locations, CRM, inventory management, etc.
  • Understanding of PCI compliance
  • IT solutions in retail and food business environments

 

Eligible candidates will have:

  • BA/BA degree preferred in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline preferred
  • 2+ years experience in IT or a related field
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, network design, layers and protocols
  • Experience with various SaaS environments (Google Apps, Dropbox, etc.)
  • Experience with MS Office products
  • Experience with Exchange and Office 365 Environment
  • Experience with vendor relations, product evaluations and conducting due diligence
  • Experience with remote application installation tools
  • Ability to provide guidance and training to users on technical subjects
  • Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where the demands and directions of the work are constantly changing
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A car and a valid driver’s license
  • A flexible schedule, when occasional evening or weekend work is required

Hourly wage range $24-$30/hour, depending on experience.
