JOB DESCRIPTION

DOSA is a fast growing restaurant group with full-service, fine casual, catering, retail, and wholesale lines of business and is seeking to hire a QA Specialist to help run its commissary kitchen in South San Francisco! You can learn more about us @dosasf or www.dosasf.com

This position is dynamic, exciting and offers excellent growth opportunities with great hours beginning early in the morning. It is best suited for someone with great focus around process and detail and, preferably, some culinary or manufacturing background.

Quality Assurance Position is responsible for administering, coordinating, and implementing the foods safety plan and HACCP programs related to products manufactured, processed, and packaged. The daily HACCP/CCP verifications, pre-shipment reviews, draft NR corrective actions are assigned to this position.

This position is responsible for HACCP and food safety related activities to ensure proper documentation necessary for compliance with FDA regulations, SQF program, and company requirements to ensure the highest standard of food safety and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(This list is not all inclusive, other duties will be assigned as necessary.)

* Maintain current knowledge of HACCP and food safety related regulations.

* Assist HACCP department and plant management with development and implementation of corrective action plans to address non-compliance issues.

* Conduct HACCP document reviews.

* Train staff on FSQA programs & policies.

* Manages compliance for purchased items and goods to USDA/FSIS regulations.

* Produce and analyze statistical data evaluating adherence to food safety standards.

* Coordinate food safety audit results and track performance against established goals; develop and manage program of periodic reporting of food safety performance.

* Manage activities to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, customer requirements for production.

* May be responsible to cover for FSQA supervisors or Regulatory Manager in their absence

* Build and maintain spreadsheets related to food safety & compliance trending & tracking

* Manages document control and document management for food safety programs.

* Keeps records of all food safety work completed.

* Runs routine weekly reports.

* Special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred: Spanish Speaking is a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Food Industry Regulations (USDA, SSOP, HACCP, GMP) or the combination of education and experience that enables performance in all aspects of the position. A PLUS: HACCP Certification and basic SQF training desirable.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work well with others. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Requires the ability to work as a team member and individually to complete given tasks.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files and procedure manuals. Must be able to effectively communicate with management personnel and others within and outside of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, diagram, written and/or verbal form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to troubleshoot, analyze varying situations and develop quantifiable solutions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Proficient in computer skills such as Outlook, Excel and Word, as well as all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available. Must be organized, detail oriented and possess good troubleshooting skills. Must have reliable transportation.
